Family and Institution Announces the Sad News

Her passing was shared in a online announcement from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

“Our beloved Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.”

Understanding the Diagnosis

As detailed in a personal essay in November, it was shared that she had been found to have AML, a form of leukemia with a specific genetic mutation.

This form of cancer is a disease that originates in the bone marrow and blood cells.
