NFL Roundup: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Display Seals Game

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards during the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short field goal with just over five minutes left.

Historic Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach stated after the game.
