Edwards as well as O'Neil Among Wolves Managerial Contenders

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the initial names under consideration to replace Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was sacked on Sunday following the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League season.

And both candidates - each of whom have historic links to the team - are among the names to be evaluated by the club ownership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would pose a possible obstacle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the former Luton manager - who made over a century of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is said to be a leading contender for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves board as they begin the process of appointing a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment considering he was sacked by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham United player is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not need to provide any compensation.
