Earick Dismisses Tottenham Hotspur Takeover Bid Following Expression of Interest
The long-serving executive managed Spurs' move to the club's new home in recent years.
US technology mogul the entrepreneur has rejected submitting an official acquisition offer for the North London club.
The club had earlier “firmly declined” an informal expression of interest from a investment group headed by Brooklyn Earick last month and stated the team was off the market.
But the nation's corporate governance laws dictated that, following an expression of interest declined, the interested parties were obligated to present a formal offer by late October or declare they would not do so.
Verification of the decision was issued in a release released by Tottenham to the financial markets, indicating the team is “no longer in an offer period.”
Earick published an picture of the release on social media, adding: “I've had a privilege interacting with Tottenham Hotspur and the Lewis family's representatives over the past few months.
“I maintain great respect for the organization, its management, and its followers, and desire continued achievements.”
Tottenham's directors acknowledged the syndicate for its “constructive approach” in negotiations and for “respecting the clear position” of the owners that the team is off the market.
Earick is a former DJ who also served in spacecraft research for the space agency before founding the innovation company, which specializes in innovation, communications, sports and entertainment.
His approach was the latest expression of interest declined by the team's directors since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman the former chairman in last month.
Earlier in September, the club turned down offers from former Newcastle United shareholder the financier's the investment firm and a group led by Kennedy and Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited.
The former chairman and his relatives control about 30% of Enic Holdings – which has an majority shareholding in Spurs.
The executive was the English top flight's top-tenured leader and is believed to have earned more than £50m during his nearly 25 years in the role.
But he was also the focus of frequent demonstrations by the club's followers, notably last season as Premier League performances were unsatisfactory.
Spurs claimed their major honor in nearly two decades when they beat the Red Devils in May's European final.
