Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
